School Newsletter
Spring Term 2008
Newsletter No. 8 - 15th April
Dear Parents,
Eco School
The Eco Team have been encouraging the school to save energy. The children did a survey around the school identifying where lights and computers had been left on. Since starting the project each class and the staff have really tried hard to turn lights and computers off. We are confident that we have been saving energy this term. Please can you encourage your children to continue this at home.

School Sunday
We are pleased to be taking part in School Sunday on the 8th June in All Saints Church, along with the Junior School. We meet at 9.30am and this year the children will be singing one song with All Saints Juniors. Parents can drop children off if they cannot stay and they will be looked after by staff. The service concludes at 10.30am and unaccompanied children will be looked after until they are safely collected. I hope as many of you as possible will be able to attend. The children do not have to wear school uniform. Please can you let class staff know if your child will be attending.
SATs
Children in year 2 will be completing their SATs over the next few weeks. It is, therefore, important they attend school during this time and arrive punctually please!

Curriculum Focus
Curriculum Focus week is 21st-25th April. The theme is History/ ICT. We will be visiting St John’s Museum. The children will be finding out about Victorian schools.
If you have been a child yourself at Emscote in the past and have any photographs we would love to see them. If grandparents have interesting stories to tell about their school life and again old photographs we would like them to arrange with class teachers to talk to the children. All parents/carers are invited to an assembly on Friday 25th April at 2.30pm.
School Trips
We have exciting trips booked for all the children this term. We will have to ask for voluntary contributions from parents to enable the trips to go ahead.
If you are taking your child on holiday in term time over the next months, please could you fill in and return to school a holiday request form as soon as possible, so that we can work out the costs for our trips. Thank you.
